So I got my GST done looked on the form and it was due on the 7th. Blooming heck I was a week early well that's a first they will think iv gone bonkers.
But I did have a bit of time due to the autumn rain so I'm pleased to make use of the time. Autumn is showing more and more the Lombardy's now with no leaves, the grape leaves going yellow and the chestnuts are all on the ground providing pig food. The pumpkin vines dying.
Ruth has collected all the pumpkins and we must have 100 stored, sounds lots but in past years it could be 600 as we use the lesser ones for stockfeed. This lot came from a Food Forest area and was very productive for the area used..
The other thing we are doing daily is collecting Feijoas for the pigs as they are just starting to fall out here.
Wally is staying in the Wagon for a day or so, he is back in Taranaki for the poultry show last weekend.
I'm hearing Olivia did well as did birds that Jamie sold and were shown.
Ila and Jess have been doing firewood most days as well as normal farm work. Firewood is one of my jobs most years and I have really appreciated the help as I'm so behind.
One of the rare times I watch a screen was Friday night Jess had a DVD on the world being invaded with extra terrestrial beings. The impact on me was high as I never watch this sort of thing so I had trouble getting to sleep and when I did eventually I had dreams of wars, shooting gunfire. Wow it was so vivid that before day break I was awake "or was I "the gunfire was everywhere in the valley the farm was under attack Boom boom Bang boom. What do I do, sink into my bed or get the shot gun out for protection. So getting up in the dim new light I crept out (with nothing on I may add) onto the veranda ...........boom boom bang bang boom boom ..Blooming heck john it is the first day of duck shooting and every gun in Taranaki is in the Back country at 4 in the morning. With that a click ....O no the back door has shut ..Man I was watching a war DVD not a comedy .....I was lucky the door did not lock NOW that would have taken some explaining I was thinking while I got dressed and made a coffee as no way could I sleep now.
Ila did take the gun out later and get a duck and a few puks so tonight we are having Beer can stuffed Duck ...Tell ya about that next week ..
