Wow what weather, morning frosts but fine hot days great for young stock, so I'm happy. The Wiltshire horns are flat out lambing as are the Damaras. We also have a litter of Canterbury blue pigs. The Wiltshires have started the fallow and lambing at the same time. Ross and Michael came out to photograph them feeding in the saved feed. Sure has done em good for lambing. Juenita came out to look at Ruth's Studio and look around the farm. The climate is so different this winter even fooled the Hydrangeas that are starting to sprout new leaves. All the camellias are in flower even the late ones.
We have some real great looking Damara lambs so far spotted brown and white, reds, black and whites. Its a liquorice allsorts of colour. I just love these sheep.
Ann and Augie the Woofers are going well. Unfortunately Ann is on her way back home Wednesday we will really miss her. She has fitted in so well cooking heaps looking after the baby lambs and goats. They will miss her as well for sure. I have tried every tact to keep her at avonstour even asked if she would marry me Ha HA she said I would have to get a bigger oven ....Can't see a problem ...just got one day to get it and I'm real busy. Augie well he's so good getting into cooking and great with a hammer and a shovel hell I may ask him to marry me ..O well ......
Ann is a bit more savvy in some ways than other woofers like when Augie and Jess came home with a dozen DB and cider she had an early night. Jess the next day looked like he should (terrible) and Augie was helping me frame up the studio. I was setting out and putting the studs up and Augie was dwanging and dwanged all the doorways up as well ...O to be young again O thats right I never was a drinker.
Have been plucking chooks with Ann and Augie for the house and early in the week Ann helped me dress lambs for the house. Ann did one the first ever and did a real good job. It has been hanging and a roast is in the oven tonight.
I went to Karaoke Thursday night and on Friday morning I was time keeper at breakfast toastmasters again. Its a 7 o'clock start so have to get there earlier than normal.
The Farmers Market was small but the weather was great and there was some great classical music, a cello flute and violin as good as i've heard anywhere. I did have a trip fall that has slowed me up this week. I think I have damaged my tendon on my left. Should be right in a day or so i hope.
