7 January 2014
Well 2014 started with my mother going down with shingles and all the doctors in Stratford were closed so Ila drove her to New Plymouth to the hospital as she is 86 and kept going dizzy. This ended up a very long day as it was 5 hours before she was looked at and with the hours travel. Its a long time for a 86 year old to wait. But she was seen and some medication given and home. That was fine for near two days but she was still dizzy and could not get up and do anything. Then she had a fall being found 2 hour's later by the next door neighbour on the bathroom floor. So Ila rushed in and met the Ambulance and back to hospital. In a sorry state. The reason she was dizzy was every time she stood up her blood pressure dropped and she fell over so she has been in hospital now for 4 days but be home in the morning.
You know i went up to see her with Ila and the front desk was closed we walked around asking and got totally lost and misdirected until we found the new building (......Wow thats flash ........) I think the powers think we are all connected with mobile phones or something and just know were they plonk people .....
You know we had a real good Hospital in Stratford NOW GONE and we have a huge shortage of doctors UMMM this is progress
NO ............
Had a few visitors over the holiday period some i had not seen for years. One in particular was Duane who i had not seen for a few year. In fact i was wondering if he had moved away or dropped dead ..but here he was looking fit and in good health in fact better than years ago. He told me he is a truck driver and living a quiet life not like the old days.
Ila and Hanneke (thats how you really spell her name I got it wrong) are always busy moving stock, feeding stock, looking after this and that. Hanneke is also good at fixing things and has been working on some of the vehicles. Its great.
Rick has been helping with the studio with plumbing this week. His wife Heather is looking after the cooking and she always has something new. She keeps the house tidy and looks after the washing, etc and thats a great help. Its all working well at the moment..
Ruth has been painting the studio and its beginning to look real good. I seem to spend every spare hour doing something up there making my days very long.
The hemp is about 4 inches high at the moment and loving this rain, unlike the Plums that are all over the ground from the heavy rain and wind.
The market was a wash out this week and i don't think we made our diesel to get there. But is swings and roundabouts i spoze.
