Well what a spring flush, more grass faster than i've seen for years. The cold wind from the out of season snow in the south island has slowed it down a bit. We are seeing the odd fly. I'm really pleased i have all the sheep dagged.
We have shut up paddocks for hay just in case it dries up early and shut extra fallow that we can use or leave if needed.
Robin left on Saturday, we got heaps done on the Shepherd Hut, it was good to see him and spend a week working with him again and talk about past times.
Ila went to Hollies for a firework party while Samuel went to the stock cars to watch Natalie race. She got to drive a friends car.
Drafted some nice lambs for the Bach restaurant and got them to the truck.
Ruth got butted by one of her goats in the nose and the side swelled up for a day or so and had trouble sleeping, but now fine.
We have a couple of French woofers at the moment Alizee and Jordan. Alizee is a keen gardener and keen on self sufficiency so is Jordan but he is a carpenter so is helping me finish the Shepherd wagon and other jobs - very keen reminds me of myself when i was a young carpenter.
We also have Andrea a German volunteer from a Wellington business school. She is a journalist, first time doing this sort of work. Its all working well and we are forming a good team.
Lots of visitors and buyers this week for pigs and sheep in ones and twos so we have been very busy.
But we will see ya Sunday.
