Yes this is the week I wait all winter for. The grass is growing, the sun's out, the sky is clear, the temperature is up, the bees are working, the trees are all in flower, the whole place has a garden of Eden feel again. Last week at the farmers market a young farmer was talking to us in the cold and just in a T shirt. I asked "aren't you cold" Na, I wear two T shirts and it traps air in and you are warm. Well i remember Greg wore two hemp shirts the other week, so i have been wearing two Ts and two shirts and yes it works well. It will be also good if i happen to find someone to play cards with - any takers............... strip poker HA.

I cleared the tree off the railway line so the rail carts could get through and on the way to town stopped on the crossing. There was a buggy powered by two bikes on the line, looked good, you never know what you will see out here.
Have been doing lots of sheep work, bringing them slowly off the hills and onto the flats as we are still lambing and over the next few weeks we will be resorting into pure mobs.
A Wessex sow furrowed a litter of x-bred pigs. They are great mothers, the Wessex, and she has 11 and all good. For those who don't know what Wessex pigs are like, they are black with a white saddle and floppy ears, great nature.
Talking of pigs the Caesarean ones are now in the daytime outside in the sun and doing well. They are now thinking and talking (pig talk that is).
We went up to New Plymouth for the album launch of SONIC ELUSION at the Mayfair. The music was Fantastic with MISSIE supporting. If you see this band or Missie posted go and hear them. Buy a CD. Musicians like this need all the help Taranaki can give. Bumped into a few friends it was great.
The Farmers Market was lively and good music from the Gazebo Girls and a good feel overall. I did have a visit from MAF to check the stall out. A nice lady who said all was fine and even bought eggs and honey. Its great to have these people you can talk to, unlike the Bureaucratic pony and trap other countries have to endure. Like in Canada where a farmer now has bank foreclosure from fighting hard to save her flock of rarebreed sheep from slaughter by CFIA Canadian Food Safety who do not like to be wrong.
In this I am asking for help in two ways:
1. This travesty has stayed at a very local level in Canada and needs to get out to the world >>>>> Email me if you want contacts.

2. This newsletter is now going to all the corners of the globe and I wish to grow it further so we can all stick together.
Organic Biodiverse farming (using old genetics) and growing of local food can come under attack so easy.
As we all run on a shoestring we need moral support.

A good quote from Pam in Canada that I have not heard for a while. Give it a google. Now in her words, Get off the soap box,
