     Title: 16 October 2012
I am taking the computer into the shop this week as i have a new computer - a very kind couple who thinks like we do dropped it off at the market. Its 10 times more powerful than this one so we will be running on jet fuel.

Man what a week, sorted out the pigs to go to the Stratford A&P show in a month or so. We are taking Wessex and Euro pigs. And for the first time in NZ Canterbury blues. Not forgetting Beates kunekune and BBB big black betty.

Have been on the road heaps, down the chook abattoir and down the line further for a delivery. Had to get up at 4 and spent all day driving. The next day i was up at 5 off to Fielding to have a look at the Farmers Market down there as both Naya and myself are going to have a rarebreed meat stall week about. I have to say i was very impressed with the market that runs on Friday so for all you readers in that area please come and buy and we are going to have to hit it hard to pay for the extra travel etc. Anyway looked to me like you could buy most of your weekly food there. We start Friday 26 Oct. So after driving i got home at four in the afternoon. Sat down and wrote the Permaculture Course for the next day Dee is running. It was a great group, even caught up with a missing friend that has been away for months (seems years to me). The day was on Trees, practical uses and food and the predicted weather bomb hit while we were all in the hall. Made for a cold day. When we went on the farm walk Ila came out "John you know the old poplar tree in front of the house, well it near fell on the house, it was swaying back and forward to the house from the house to the house from the house, then on the last sway to the house the wind changed 180 and snapped the tree half way up and dropped it in the paddock". Now this old Lombardy would be 100 years old and near 3 foot true - half the house would have gone.

The next day Sunday was the Farmers Market on Huatoki Plaza. And the council had put up a large scaffold around the Plaza, good job it was wet as it was a very small market.
All day people came up and said you have not returned my call or email then Kama asked for her account so she could pay us. When i explained how busy i was this week she said John you need a Personal Assistant..... So true...... Ruth has been saying that for years ... She has also been saying what we need is a wife. She could be your personal assistant and help me with the cooking etc. So if ya want a job ....... Sorry can't call it a job ... as can only pay in kind ........ bit short of the readies .......... but lots of kind Ha .... and good organic food and living.

The house truck has had another coat of paint inside as Ruth spends a couple of hours a day on it, as is Beate with the curtains and after i have sent this I'm down the workshop working on the toilet.
