     Title: 14 March 2013
And still no rain but it is forecast for 8 days time so we will see. The well is holding very well but the peaches and plums are more like prunes. The apples still look good as do the grapes. The artichokes are starting to flower this week, they are normally in full flower 22 to 25 March so may be a normal season for the coming of winter who knows.

Jess has got a job in town so Ila is full time on the farm at the moment.

The drought has had a huge impact on the Wild Food course and we have had lots of problems getting foods to work with so we are putting it on hold.

The Hemp has gone off for testing of THC and ...AND.......I have just phoned them ......And yes we are fine to harvest ....So all eyes are on the seed and the birds that start to raid it. We are thinking maybe next week. Keep ya posted.

At the weekend it was the National Permaculture Hui and Avonstour supplied the meat and apples. The fantastic feedback we got was well received. But the meat is only half of it, my thanks go to the cooks who also did the best job possible with our meat.

On the Sunday Ruth and Beate ran the market stall while I got ready for our open day. So at 6 in the morning I loaded them up waved goodbye and got in to it ... Hang on what is this meat O NO that's an order  - I have so much to do can't really afford 2 and a half hours on the road up to the market but I just have to do it. So into the blue rocket up and back not bad only 2 hours and 10 and back into getting the place sorted. I just did not stop as I also had all the stock, pigs and poultry that Ruth and Beate normally do. I had just finished and in they drove from the market at 2.15 and our open day was due to start at 2.30 ... 2.25 here they are the dogs are barking, No its the Census man to pick up the Census papers (that lay on the table untouched except our names on top) ....You must be joking I can't stop .....No worries John (he has been here on a course, nice guy) I will pick them up from the mailbox in the morning. So in the mail box they went as is except I put my religion as....... localist.
2.29 People coming up the track and we are ready. And what a fantastic lot most from the Permaculture Hui but others as well. Some big names as well even a member of parliament.

Not much progress on the fencing this week but I have wired more inside lights and am about halfway to boxing the shower in.
