     Title: 24 April 2013
This rain has sure greened things up and grown some grass. We just need it to harden off a bit before the frosts start. It has sure softened the growing up and the pigs have started digging so I have been busy putting nose rings in them to stop them ripping up the grass we need for winter. Its a noisy job and Beate keeps well clear. I still need to do more.

We have had two English Helpx (similar to Wooffers) girls on the farm Niki and Emma. Got a bit done with them and played cards at night, its years since I done that.

Did my Rarebreed Report for the rarebreed newsletter between the showers of rain. We sorted the cattle up for some to go to the works. The job went with little bother and I sent the big bull with them as I'm sick of fixing gates. And need the turnover.

Went out to a house concert at Pukengahu Playskool GAZEBO GIRLS AND THE RAVEN MAVENS.
Was very good and a great venue. Don't ya just love that LOCAL music.
Went around to Butlers Reef after the market to a blues concert got there at half time but was also very good.

The Farmers Market was very slow due to the weather, another reason I was happy to sell the big bull as we are a bit hand to mouth at the moment.

O the door bell is ringing (well the dogs are barking HA ) ....? ...  Wow its two Rarebreed farmers come for a visit and a look at stock, John Frederickton and Ashley Dillon. Its great Ila is home so she can get the sheep in for sorting while I walk around.

Ila is looking for some sort of apprenticeship at the moment so I am unsure on how long she will be home to help. If you hear of anything please let me know, she is a very capable young woman. But its harder for females out there but that's how it is.

Called on Samuel, settled into his house and with all his extra time etc he has now done 60% of his time to become a tradesman.
