Well the donkey milking is going well the milk is fantastic and the more i find out about the value of it for food and skin. The two donkeys are getting so friendly. It sure helps that they come to be miked. They are getting all the good paddocks so are doing well,.
At the end of this month we were to take part in a TV show and emails and phone calls have been going back and forth between the studio in Auckland and Avonstour. But the last call from Vanessa was not a good one the team at the studio has had the rug pulled from under them and the Show has been put on hold till next year. I am really hopping this will happen as it will be a huge boost for Rarebreeds, organic and Avonstour.
Our fantastic German Wwoofers Fabian and Charlotte have gone to their next host and we are missing them. Were like part of the family clean tidy and very helpful these two will go far with life.
But just as we think the work load is too great we get another couple Mike and Paulina. Mike is English and Paulina is Czech. Mike is a mechanic who worked on the police cars in the UK and Paulina worked for the Police in the Czech Republic. So good stories from these two, with Aubrey fitting in very well and Fiona on the weekends the work is getting done.
The Dry weather has had an impact on the water table with many drains and waterways dry, making many paddocks on the hills not stock proof so the sheep are going where ever, good job we have Plenty of grass. One lot just keep jumping the Makuri into next door. This is a problem as they have to go into the Quarantine paddock after that. Luckily I had a sale for some ewes so they are now gone as it was becoming an embarrassment with my sheep eating someone's grass when grass is in short supply. Regan put up a fence along the Markuri for me so that's not going to be a problem any more.
Ila's Kelpie Puppies are running around, are very fat and well fed, she has sold Two so if you know anyone who wants a pure red Kelpie she still has some they are going on trade me this week maybe.
The bus is now a wine factory and glass house for seedlings for the gardens. We are also going to make cider. I have to ring john the wine man for help I think as I don't want to get it wrong.
So I have last week shook hands on getting a book together so I can't keep procrastinating.
O yes I won the B2 speech contest for our Toastmasters club with my speech "Don't get Knotted to soon ". So I have two weeks to get it even more polished as the competition is VERY good.
So see all you localviors on Sunday and for the rest of you hope your week has been as good as mine.
