Well can't believe its first days of autumn ...the temperature has dropped as if on key.  The hazel nuts started to fall we are collecting them every day.
We went out to tea with Peter and Lois.   Peter has been in the UK working with pigs judging at many shows.  It was good to spend the evening with someone just talking pigs.
Ila fished out a good fat eel that i salted and smoked made two good meals.
Ran the chilled meat up to the organic butchery, picked Jamie and a horse float on the way so we could go on to Auckland to pick up the new (second hand ) incubators and hatchers for Jamie's hatching ..........then back to Raglan to call on an ex poultry breeder to buy Auto feeders etc for Ruth.  We left early in the morning and got back to Jamie's at 12 at night only to find the tractor to unload was not there,  so spent 2 hours unloading a half ton incubator down 2 planks.  Got home at 3.40 in the morning only having to get up at 7 to get sorted to make hay.  We cut the hay and silage, got the silage baled into big squares and wrapped and the hay baled into conventional bales.
We had a good team to help pick up and stack Samuel called Jack and I called Jamie.  Richard and Patricia came out to pick up their hay for winter and stayed to help us.  So with heaps of sweat and 400 bales stacked we had tea and a few drinks, it was a good day. Thanks you guys.
The next day we got the cattle in and sorted out two for the home kill for our meat and the rest to the abattoir for the market.
Spent a hour on the phone with Nardine Hall for an article on our courses with Dee for the next lifestyle block mag.  The rest of the day doing the GST return - what a waste of time last month pay them $150 this month get it back, I think i will phone them.  I will give you $300 for the year and we won't bother with all this blooming paper work.  The Tax Dept will be $300 better off and i won't have to do all this stupid book work.  Can't see them having it!
Samuel has been building a new chook shelter for Ruth out of a old horse float roof up on posts.
Got the Xbred lambs in for dagging, found 3 fly struck so cleaned them up and dagged the rest.
Ross was out to take photos for the life style block right up and to start his photo essay on us all.

Still looking for buyers for this Trade me auction #BNR531.
