Title: 30 April 2014
Ila were are you. ILA blooming heck. Ila can't find you anywhere. ILA ......O there you are ...What did you feed the pigs in the shed, not those Fox gloves or rhubarb leaves the Wwoofers were meant to put in the compost. Look come hurry up all the pigs are sick. Those two Wessex are down look at them, can't move them. Look at that one, is only just standing leaning on the wall. These two European young boars won't stop fighting and this Canterbury blue I tried to get it up but it attacked me......... but I think it's blind because it ended up ripping up this hay bale. Look at the mess it's made. It must be some sort of poison, coz the whole lot are spewing the food up.
Look ILA its not funny, why are you laughing. Stop it don't you understand these are very rare pigs, in fact some are the very last of those blood lines ..... HAAAaaaa sorry John HAaaa sorry, cant help it. Haaa they are so funny. Haaa I did not mean to ... Umm sorry I fed them all my wine pulp and all the apples from my cider .. I did not know, really sorry the whole lot are drunk. Yep p....sed as newts. I did not think about it ..
Yep a shed full of well over the limit pigs and the next day a shed full of very hung over pigs.
The next day and some of the week Ila has been working in New Plymouth on a hemp house until she got a splash of hydrated lime mix in her eye. It's like caustic so she ended up in hospital most of the day and night until 2'o clock in the morning getting it flushed out. Fiona drove Regan up so someone could drive her car back.
As it was so late they all stayed in town. The biggest problem with all the eye flushing was Ila got uncontrollably
sick and has had to have a constant bucket most of the week. And on top of that she seems to have picked up another bug from the hospital so the other end has been the same.
It was a really cramped time as we were going to Fielding for two nights for Oliver's party and although we left late we got down to Steve and Cheryl, where we were staying before it was to late. The party was Great and for me it was good that Aaron was there as well so we could talk Rarebreeds etc. Met some of Fiona's family and friends so that was good as well. The second night I did not sleep well I kept dreaming of my Nissan ute back at the farm as Samuel was to use it to get firewood for Ruth.
So getting home there on the road was the Austin Gypsy with Fabian looking very unsure about this and the logging chain hooked onto the Nissan. Samuel with his arms in the air not happy the Ute would not start. So he dragged it out with his car and then down the track with Gypsy and now stranded on the road still not starting. So after I got in the Gipsy and pulled it up the road still no go. So pulled it back up the track and after an hour or two found a loose connection. In the main earth cable. As I had to pack for the market next day and by that time needing the ute, Sam had wasted his day. So looks as if I will be doing the fire wood
now.
The market the next day seemed busy but the take was down, it's just so hard to gauge the market income. But it's not all about that, it's a time we make contact with friends, some we don't see often, like Ann Marie and many more. Happy people and good music.
Ila now has more birds in the Aviary a pair of Baraband Parrots and some more Quail. That's Ila, more animals. Not sure were she gets that from.
3 new Wwoofers this week, a French guy and two German girls all very keen so should get a bit done.
Well I need to get going as Charlotte and Fabian need to get a lift to the bus, it's their last day and we are going to miss them ......O yes quite a dump of snow on the mountain .....
