And that's right I forgot ta tell ya. You know I Drove the ute down and around the south island loaded up with sheep pig and chook cages ..Well you know what I managed to buy while down there ..nothing blooming nothing ..But fresh air ..This is the first time I have gone on the road ever and come home with no livestock. Maybe it was the fact I was crook but unlikely.

We have had a few Frosts and it sure sorts out your stock for you. We don't Cull our Ewes for age like many do. In fact we don't get rid of anything just because its old. Some of our Dorset horn ewes are over 15 years old, a few seasons ago I lost my old belted highland cow Miss Beltie and looking up my books she was 38 years old, incredible and she reared me a calf every year. That's the thing about Rarebreed livestock they are long lived in many cases. But come the cold and we loose some ..still they have been good for me. Why put them on the truck ..they can stay here and be put under a apple tree or something.

We have 4 Wwoofers at the moment. Terry the Irish writer, the French couple and Nadine the German girl who turned 20 today. So its a big pork roast, lots of cakes and baking. Well it was going ta be a pork roast for lunch. I bunged it in the oven in a rush ..Then went and mustered the sheep, sorted them up. Shore some sheep skins. Started a Hugulkulture bed with the shorn skins as a weed mat that I can build onto it. Then came into the house for lunch and the blooming pork was still half raw. Heck the oven was on grill, that's it i'm super gluing that switch on BAKE ,,,.........2 hours later we got lunch.

Ila has been working on a hemp house now for 4 weeks. I am going to have a look in a few days so I will let ya know how its going.

Well the weekend was a hard one the phone just kept ringing. Unfortunately The Pig Breeders day was advertised as the Rare Breed sale. It had inadvertently been cut and pasted onto this years sale. So people had traveled to buy Rarebreeds and the sale was last year. Well I have had so many unhappy people on the phone.
