Title: 1 April 2011
The wild rambling roses Ruth has planted around the house have stopped flowering and the hips are ripe. Next week we will collect some for making winter syrup.
I have been working on the vehicles as all our WOF are due in march. The main ute and the trailer now have warrants with only minimal work - weld the coupling and fix the lights on the trailer, fit new wipers to the ute. But the older ute is in for plenty. Have fixed most of the rust but will need tires and more.
Have been sorting ducks and geese with Ruth and took a large load to the abattoir in Wanganui with Jamie. After unloading we had 2 hours to wait so we drove down to Castlecliff to have a look at the water as neither of us had ever been there. Well the place is very historic and good fishing so next trip we will take Ross along and the rods. Got home fast, unloaded, showered and off to Dees for the Organic Farm NZ Taranaki AGM. Good job everyone was looking at the new house as i was late. Their house has a fantastic feel, Dave and Dee have really put themselves into it.
While i was away Ruth had stacked all the firewood into the shed, how she found time i will never know as Ruth has always something to do.
I managed to break one of my front teeth completely off while sorting lambs for the Bach. It was half broken anyway where a sheep hit it weeks ago. I should have had it fixed then BUT i would have to go to the dentist and im pretty soft about that now looks like i have to harden up and get it fixed.
Sorted pigs - some Wessex gilts that Beate has been feeding and a Wessex boar we have been holding in the shed so they could get some age on have been put out.
Beate has been doing some cooking made a fantastic black boy peach crumb flan thing that was world class.
Samuel has been in Rotorua for three days with the school and Ila did relay for life, so two tired teens GREAT.
See Ya Sunday
