     Title: 5 May 2011
Well another good frost sure cleaned up a few flies and the trees are really dropping leaves. The chestnuts have just about finished dropping and the ground is covered with feijoas and apples, the pigs love it.  Im back making wine again, a bit of this and a bit of that, feijoa this week.  I have been really spoilt for a few years with cottage wines.
I always try to take a bottle or two home from the market its so good.
And then the wind and rain, more trees over, more firewood, a good amount of Ruth's garden gone.  We will be short of greens this winter.  Patricia usually swaps with us as well but her gardens were bombed.  It just shows you how things go.  Patricia and Richard have a stall each week supplying all with veg, now it looks as if like us they will have to buy their food in.  Yes a small tweek here and there in the weather can really affect the food chain.
Ila went to the dentist to have teeth removed so Betty (Taranaki Orthodontists) could fit her braces they don't look bad but she is finding them a bit uncomfortable.
You would wonder why its happened since we follow Weston Price diet, can only be genetic.
We wake each day to the drone of bulldozers and logging gear up in the back forest must be a mud bath up there with all the rain.
Ruth collected another 52 pumpkins up around the house so at least we will have seed for the bumper crop next year.  Pumpkins form a good part of our stock food
and we need about 400+ a year for us and the stock.
We have not seen much of Samuel this holiday he has been working mainly fencing at a large farm down the road.  Came home with a fat cheque to feed to his car.
We ran the pig course on Saturday it was a success.  Ila and Ruth did the cooking, unfortunately we had a few no shows so the finance would be down. O well swings and roundabouts chicken course this Saturday.
Beate is away for a few days so I am back looking after pigs.  They will be doing it hard, no pats and brushes, just here's yer tucker an get on wiv it from me.  I m sure they miss her.
So see ya Sunday
