     Title: 14 September 2011
The rain has started to green up the place, as long as this cold wind keeps away we may be onto grass growing.  It can't be long as the thistles have started growing.
Have been on the road a fair bit this week carting stock to the abattoir for the Bach restaurant and farmers market.
Got to Jono with meat and picked up my band saw.
I have still been cutting scrub every day and ring-barking trees growing under the power lines running over the side of the hill country.
Justin and Aleena were due to stay later in the week after going skiing on the mountains.  But the snow had blocked the ski fields so on Monday Justin called in and has been helping patch up the broken duck pond dams, ring-barking trees with me, feeding out and shifting sheep as we have no woofers at the moment.
Samuel went to a chopping competition and luckily he had his steel cap chopping boots on as he hit his foot and took the end off his boot with his competition axe.  He would have no toes.  Ila has dug her garden and has planted herbs and veg plants we bought from the Nashnui stand at the market.  Holly and Ila have a garden each and intend to swap produce.
Ruth has been shifting young ducks and chickens around to make room for the next lot of hatched chickens Jamie has hatched at the hatchery.
I spent the day doing the GST and accounts. The GST is late but they owe us so that's fine.
Still getting the odd Damara and Wiltshire lamb out of the older ewes and then we only have the hoggets to go.
So see Ya Sunday
