Title: 29 December 2011
I hope you all had a great Christmas. We all went to my mothers in Stratford where Pat my sister and her family were staying. Pat has just sold and moved to Kerikeri, but has been staying at mums for a week. She supplies all the food for Christmas so its a change in what we normally eat.
Ila has been breaking in her horse Timothy and i have been leaving her to it. Anyway after the farmers market last week i came home there was Ila and Timothy in the yard the horse tied up and Ila not looking my way. Hows it going Ila ........ Have you seen it, Have i seen what, you haven't seen it then, Blooming heck seen what ... The gate the high one.. .No i have not seen the high gate what's wrong with it. Well i was leading Tim and he got stung or something, bolted away and when i found him he had run over the road jumped the high gate and smashed it. What smashed my good gate. Now im very fussy and proud about my gates i make them all myself. This gate is made of Jarra Australian hardwood that i got from the sale of the old Stratford sale yards and were the main walkways on top of the cattle pens and the gate was near 6 feet high. How the horse got over it uphill i will never know and how it broke the rail and upright inch and three-quarter hardwood i will never know if i hit it with a car it would right the car off. So now im helping with the horse and Ila is finding some new hard wood (she may be working).
I have a new cell phone Jamie gave to me BUT that's not all wait there's more he gave me two crayfish as well. Yes Two they were fantastic. Now there are three things you can bribe me with one is crayfish .....!!
Ila wanted to get her dog something for Christmas ... after much deliberation she borrowed Samuels 223 rifle and shot a young goat with one shot. First time she had shot a goat first time using a high powered rifle. So Abby the Dog is happy im happy - just don't go poaching around here when im out as Ila is always around (one shot one goat).
You know its a weird season there is a fresh clutch of geese hatched Christmas day and the Christmas red plums are still green.
It was good to see my old mate John at the Market up and running again.
Ive got back onto the Shepherd wagon doing the finishing work and steps, wont take much to finish it.
SO see Ya Sunday on Currie street.
