     Title: 15 February 2012
You won't believe this ... Ruth and i had a day off YES a day off. Beate said "come on you two you both look as if you need a break". So first off we went to see BUCK at the Art House theatre in New Plymouth. At first i thought Beate was heading for some nic nac shop but went up the stairs next to it. O well maybe next time HA. The film was fantastic and im really glad i watched it.
From there we went to the Volcano View Restarant you turn right at Egmont village. Well what a fantastic place an extremely tasteful new building with country furnishings. Now if you know me you will know how im extremely fussy with food and with the exception of the BACH Restaurant I rarely eat out. The meal we had at the Volcano was really good and we totally recommend it. From there we stopped at the Environment Centre to buy a new Brix meter and then home.
But wait there is more Yes more we had another night off - went out to the Pukengahu old school for an outside concert - HARD CANDY wow, fantastic NZ music we just loved it great crowd. Good to catch up with old friends. Danced. AND you know what there are more concerts to come, keep ya posted.
We have in fact done heaps of work. Ruth and Ila have been picking plums for the hoi polloi orders and a few for the market.
Samuel has been working at home doing our vehicle maintenance and firewood.
Ross has been out helping sort pigs and getting things ready for the next course and sorting sheep for the BACH as i am still stiff from that steer.
Samuel and Ila's cousin Christian has been staying for a few days. Some of you met him at the market. Christian is a chef in Ponsonby, Auckland in a top restaurant where the turnover per week is about our 2 yearly turnover. But you know what Christian said Taranaki is great everyone so friendly and no stuck up whiners. You know money can't buy that. I am talking to him about doing some cooking next season with our real organic local food at the market. I can tell you we have had some awesome meals while he has been staying.

So see ya Sunday
